Gold, Land, Changes, Opportunities, and New Listings

I am announcing a format change for the AlaLandMan Blog.  Instead of being a listings-based site with occasional news and articles from the area’s land industry, the AlaLandMan Blog will become more news, article, and announcement based.  In addition to the information you have been accustomed to getting here, I will also supply information on other properties and sales in the East Central Alabama area…Don’t worry, I’m not doing some all-inclusive update blog that will choke your inbox or feed…just the ones that I think you guys will find interesting.  Let me know how I am doing.  You can find my page on Facebook here:  Robert King Land Agent

With that in mind, we have just listed a parcel at the intersection of Alabama Hwy 21 and Stockdale Road, just north of Talladega that I think might interest many of you.  There are farmland, timberland, and potential homesites in the tract.  256+/- Acres total that can be purchased in tracts of 95+/- Acres, 90+/- Acres, 28+/- Acres, 24+/- Acres, and 19+/- Acres.  All have paved frontage and are just minutes from Talladega, Oxford, I-20, and Mt. Cheaha State Park.  Priced between $2,350 and $3,000 per acre.  I looked at these with a customer this weekend and was really impressed with the value that I saw on these.

Great Timberland Opportunity in Tallapoosa County
Last week, I traveled down to Newsite in northern Tallapoosa County and looked at a parcel we have available there.  123+/- Acres of timberland with mixed mature timber, deeded access off of Alabama Hwy 22 and a beautiful, rocky creek flowing through it…just what so many are looking for…and at a timberland price, just $1,536/acre.  At that price, I can see a clear pathway to a great combination timber and hunting land investment that puts well under $1,000/acre in dirt value.  This is the place to make money…not Gold…this property is priced less, on a per acre basis, than an ounce of gold.

An Ounce of Gold or and Acre of Land?
Jonathan Goode, our Land Agent serving the Western BlackBelt area of Alabama penned an outstanding article on this subject over on the LandThink Blog.  Great investment article for anyone considering new or movement of investments.  Just a hint…Land is Better!…HA!…didn’t see that coming did you?  Here is the article:

I hope you like the more informal tone of the AlaLandMan Blog.  I’m pretty sure I can do a better job of serving my customers this way, which is my goal.  Thanks to all of my readers, customers, and friends.  You make this industry one of the best to practice in.

Here is how you can get in touch with me about any of these listings:
